The Series 55 Red is a surprisingly good smoke. I'd say medium-full with a nice flavor and kick of spice to it, thanks to the corojo wrapper. The ash is white and stays on awhile. The burn is generally even, though sometimes it will canoe. I just finished one earlier today and it had nice oil and a toothy wrapper.
I've tried other VS blends and found them yawners by comparison. So to me, this is the top of their line. I'd give it a high 8 rating, judging against other sticks I've tried that get 9s from people who know what they are talking about. The price point makes it a top-end everyday smoke for me, along with the Brick House robusto

A good value for the price, but but the construction is a bit disappointing and inconsistant. Worth trying if you want to try out flavored cigars.

Definitely a well-blended, smooth cigar. Not quite as tops as a Macanudo maduro, but close to it and not NEARLY as expensive. Very pleasant, good draw, consistent burn, holds ash well. It was very well received by a number of my friends who are more the cigar aficionados than I. If you want a quality, mild cigar, this is a great buy.

One of the most excellent cigars I have had if you are any type of cigar smoker you must try this product great price and for a far greater product then one should pay for. In short my personal best or one of the best cigars I have ever had.

Good smoke overall, although I'd say the price was a little high for the quality of the cigar. These, in my opinion, are worth 4-5 bucks each but no more then that. Would I order them again? Yes.

I love the alternatives. They are a great cigar and I can't really tell the difference between them and the original macanudo cigars. I would love to have Rocky Patel seconds or alternatives. I'd be in cigar Heaven then. What a great way to enjoy a great cigar and be able to afford it.

Actually a very mild cigar with a great taste. The only problem I have is it leaves a little black ring on your lips.

These ARE great little cigars. Excellent smoke, very good taste. I do smoke others, and my faves are the Macanudo Portofinos, but I smoke the Ascots Alternatives by far the most. I order about twice a year.
I am not a heavy smoker, and don't touch cigarettes.

After smoking short filler green wrapper Chinese cigars for 8 years, when China Post called for me to come pick up this order of cigars on August 4, just 6 days after they were shipped, I walked the 2 kilometers in a downpour. The package was in excellent condition.
I am smoking the first Connecticut Churchill as I write this review.

The 125 assorted flavor pack I got for my husbands birthday present, was an awesome price!!!! My husband absolutley LOVES all of the flavors, although Vanilla and Amaretto are his favorites. I would HIGHLY recommend these cigars to anyone who hasn\'t tried them!!!

Don't judge a book by its cover! These cigars may look rough but they smoke great. I was really amazed in the quality of the smoke for the price.
