I love the alternatives. They are a great cigar and I can't really tell the difference between them and the original macanudo cigars. I would love to have Rocky Patel seconds or alternatives. I'd be in cigar Heaven then. What a great way to enjoy a great cigar and be able to afford it.

These ARE great little cigars. Excellent smoke, very good taste. I do smoke others, and my faves are the Macanudo Portofinos, but I smoke the Ascots Alternatives by far the most. I order about twice a year.
I am not a heavy smoker, and don't touch cigarettes.

These little cigars have been a very nice surprise starting with the price and continuing on with excellent flavor and smoke-ability, they arrived during very wet weather but probably 85% of them were ready to smoke. The flavor is excellent with enough difference in the wrappers to provide a distinct variation in flavor between the two types.
My husband and I are very happy with our choice and will order these often. I will not hesitate to mention that Cigar Hut should make an effort to lower their shipping rates. Shipping should not cost more than the ordered product (ie 29.95 for second day) it took 10 days by Priority Mail!
Other than the shipping cost, these cigars have been a real pleasure.

Great tasting puro! Smooth draw, not dry and mild taste. These are much better than the previous cigars that I have purchased at "the Hut" which were also very good. I would highly recommend them!

I was looking for a smaller ring cigar that could be enjoyed when time was short. The Ascot alternatives proved to fit the need exactly as I had hoped! Even burn, full flavor and just the right size to enjoy while grilling. I will order these again soon!

I have smoked over 1200 of these and they are a pleasing smoke. Getting both gives me variety. The price is reasonable. Cudos to the Cigar Hut for not doubling the price of these as others have done with their \"Seconds\" and lost my business.

For the most part, they are very similar to the cigars that were sold as macanudo "seconds".
They resemble macanudo ascots in size, color, and, for the most part, taste! They are a pretty good cigar, considering their size! They burn well, and are a good option for a quick smoke!

Hi,
I usually buy the macanudo Prince Phillip seconds cigars, but you were out of them so I thought I'd try the Alternatives. Well, to my suprise they were really good. I couldn't tell the difference and I plan to buy them again as long as they keep to price and quality. Thank for giving me an alternative.

I hate to rate these alternatives to the Ascots so high and alert people to their quality, because they will just go to shorter and shorter supply but I can't help it. These little gems are awesome. I've been enjoying the Old Fashioned Chicos for years but with the recent price increase I didn't know where I was going to next. These fit the bill in every way. I actually like them much better than the chico's. I hope you guys keep these in stock at reasonable prices for years to come.
