Xikar Round Digital Hygrometer / Thermometer

I purchased 4 of these Xikar hygrometers to use in my 100 count boxes. When I received my order, I opened the packaging to find 3 Xikar hygrometers and a fourth with no brand name on it. Using my "standard" digital hygrometer, which is the one I use in my 300+ count box, I set to calibrate the four. Two of the devices calibrated right away, the other two have yet to calibrate. I've attempted the salt and water calibration three to four times as well as popping the battery. I still can't get two of these to calibrate correctly. I'd like to say that I could correct for this inaccuracy using a +/- N% to account for the differences between the Xikar and my gold standard hygrometer, but they don't read reproducibly enough to do this in confidence. All in all, I wouldn't purchase these again as I've had poor success calibrating these and have yet to be able to obtain reproducible results. Sorry Xikar.... PadillaGuy (puff.com)
